Jose G. Figueroa a life-long Houstonian and a product of HISD schools. Mr. Figueroa is a graduate of Rice University. His favorite history topics include ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece. Mr. Figueroa taught Art History at Lee College from 2002 to 2004
Mr. Figueroa is also an accomplished artist and the recipient of the 2001 and 2002 Individual Artist Grant from the Cultural Arts Council of Houston & Harris County. He has exhibited in Lawndale Art Center, DiverseWorks, and Houston City Hall. Mr. Figueroa’s mural, "Maria y José", is permanently installed in Houston’s Downtown Theater District.
